Admission CriteriaApplicants must possess at least five (5) CSEC or equivalent passes, with a minimum of Grade III in each subject. These must include: English Language and Mathematics, and Three (3) Science subjects: Biology and Chemistry (preferred), along with one of the following — Physics (strongly recommended), Integrated Science, or Human and Social Biology.
OR
Applicants with three (3) GCE 'A' Level Passes (Grades A–D) or CAPE Passes (Grades I–V) in any three subjects, who are not eligible for direct entry into the MBBS or BDS Programmes, may be considered for admission to the Pre-Medical Sciences Programme.
OR
Applicants aged twenty-one (21) years or older who possess relevant work or life experience may be considered for admission, subject to successful completion of the University of Guyana Entrance Examination (UGEE).
OR
Any qualification — such as Medex, Medical Technician, Pharmacy Technician, or any other — recognized by the University as equivalent or acceptable may be considered as an alternative to the aforementioned requirements. **Even if the minimum entry requirements are met, admission is not automatic. Selection will be based on academic ranking, which considers applicants’ overall grades, subject performance, and available programme spaces under the University’s policy or category system. The Admissions Committee serves as the final decision-making authority for matters on admission, selection, and enrollment in the Pre-Medical Program.
