Admission CriteriaPasses at least five (5) subjects at CSEC/CXC at Grade III or better, or five (5) subjects at GCE 'O' Level at grades A to C or any equivalent qualification. The five (5) subjects must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry.

The G.T.E.E. Diploma (Credit) in Science (Physics or Chemistry).

Mature applicants (26 years or older), who do not possess any of the academic qualification set out above may be considered for admission, provided they possess relevant Technical qualifications and experience. Such applicants will be required to pass the University of Guyana Entrance Examination.
OR
Applicants who do not have the required pass grade in either English, Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics, but who have five (5) other subjects which are acceptable for admission to the University of Guyana, may apply. Such applicants must successfully complete the relevant foundation course (English or Mathematics or Chemistry or Physics) being offered by the Institute of Distance and Continuing Education (IDCE) or pass the relevant qualifying examination for entrance to the Faculty of Technology.
OR
Applicants who have a Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Geological Engineering will be accepted regardless of their CSEC/CXC or "O" Level grades or Subjects.
OR
Applicants who have an Associate of Science in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical or Engineering will be accepted regardless of their CSEC/CXC or "O" Level grades or subjects.

Any other equivalent qualifications, subject to the Registrar's approval.
